Industry Ventures Grows Team with New Hires as Market Expands

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Industry Ventures, a leading investment firm focused on venture capital and private technology investing, announced new additions to its investment and investor relations team to further strengthen the firm. According to the NVCA, the direct venture capital deal volume increased from $165B to $342B from 2021 to 2022. The firm believes that secondary volume, tech buyout exits and new technology adoption will continue to compound as a result of overall market growth and current macroeconomic and political uncertainty. “Given the continued growth in the market, we believe it is important to hire ahead of our needs,” shared Hans Swildens, CEO and Founder of Industry Ventures. “Our goal is to provide superior risk-adjusted returns for our LPs in addition to world class service. By adding these team resources, we aim to fortify our team against these goals.”

Geoff LeMieux joined the firm in March 2022 as Managing Director focusing on Investor Relations, Capital Raising and Corporate Development. Prior to joining Industry Ventures, Geoff was a Managing Director for Solamere Capital and HighVista Strategies where he led the Investor Relations function at both firms. In addition, he was a Managing Director and Senior Investment Specialist at Aberdeen Asset Management (which acquired FLAG Capital Management) for nine years, also leading the Investor Relations function. Earlier in his career he was a Vice President of Business Development and Relationship Manager for HRJ Capital and Wellington Management Company. Geoff received a B.S. in Investment Management (MSIM) from Boston University and a B.A. in Economics from Denison University.

Additional team hires in recent months include Jonathan Ting, Senior Associate on the Secondary Investment team; Chase Barlow, Portfolio Analyst on the Direct and Partnership Holdings Investment team; Danielle Bellantonio, Investor Relations and Business Development Associate; and Dasha Trakhimets, Investor Relations Associate.

“We are excited to work with these new and talented team members,” said Swildens. “These additions will allow us to strengthen our relationships with institutional investors as well as provide our limited partners access to many of today’s and tomorrow’s leading technology companies. As we increase the size of our team focused on Secondary and Direct investments in breakout technology companies and funds, we are equally excited to strengthen a world-class team focused on Investor Relations and Capital Development.”
